Piperazzi on Monday
This is from Jim McGillivray, who instructs the present Band. His words;
This is #142 Highland Cadet Corps, St. Andrew's College pipe band taken in 1916, the first year the school had a band.
The Cadet Corps itself was founded in 1906; the first Cadet C.O. was Vincent Massey. A parent donated 6 sets of pipes in 1915,
and the band was formed. The Corps was always affiliated with the 48th Highlanders, and in the middle of the back row in this photo
is P/M James Fraser, legendary P/M of the 48th, who taught the band at its inception and for many years thereafter.
The school was located in Toronto until 1926, and that's where this photo would have been taken.
